The Thistle Inn Pub
is a place you really want to
experience while you are traveling along the
southern
coast of Maine. You can still find the original bar
that was donated by a local doctor back in the
1960's, and to this day is the focal point of the pub
-- an 18 foot dory (boat) that actually sailed the
waters of Boothbay at one time. Also of interest is
an antique whale harpoon and an oar signed and
donated by the U.S. Coast Guard in 1965.
Our pub is a great place for visiting with friends and
meeting locals of Boothbay Harbor. During the summer, the
pub is vibrant with activity and in the winter it is a
warm retreat. With 10 tap brews that change with the
seasons, a great wine list and specialty drinks - the Dory
Pub is a favorite destination.
The pub menu consists of more casual fare, such as pizza, burgers, mussels, salads, etc. We also invite you to enjoy the full dining room menu in the Dory Pub.
Sometimes it is fun to sit at the bar, chat with our bartender and see who else sits next to you. This is a friendly place, with lots of locals to meet.
No 19th century pub would be complete without a resident ghost, ambling about. Ours is quite harmless and very playful -- usually limited to items being pushed about the bar and kitchen. We invite you to stop in, order a pint, sit back and see what happens!
Pub opens at 5pm.
Our popular Happy Hour continues through the off season 2010/2011 from 5-6pm with 1/2 price drinks and Food Specials!!
