Welcome! Max and Jen Ross purchased The Thistle Inn in May 2006 in the coastal town of Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Max has over 20 years of experience in fine dining and wine wholesaling. Max has managed and matured wine lists in prestigious establishments such as Radius (Boston), The Wauwinet (Nantucket) & the Eiffel Tower (Las Vegas) and has now built an exceptional wine list at The Thistle Inn. Max manages the front of the house on a daily basis, training our wait staff and greeting our customers - many who are frequent visitors and true friends. Jen left her Boston-based software career behind and now enjoys her days managing the inn and spending precious time with sons, Jackson & Alex. Jackson was born in Nantucket in 2005 and Alex is Boothbay Harbor native, born October 2009. We are joined in the kitchen by Michael Whitney, our executive chef. Mike's experience and leadership have brought The Thistle Inn to be regarded as one of the best kitchen's in the region. Mike's creativity and focus on local organic produce and high end meat & fish providers give The Thistle Inn menu a distinct twist rarely found in the area. Menu's are updated frequently, specials are based on what is fresh and available and Mike is always available to consult on special menus for dietary needs or special event planning.
